Emergencies

Luckily, we are able to reach our vet 24/7.

We keep our vets telephone number along with the number and address of their preferred and nearest emergency animal hospital on our refrigerator... just in case.

In case of an emergency, it is good to have certain supplies on hand, and know how to use them.  Having to tube feed a pup or puppies is not all that unusual and can save a puppy's life if it, for whatever reason, is weak and having difficulty nursing.  Injecting an IV solution to hydrate a puppy may be necessary, as well as administering oxygen to an exhausted bitch, or gasping puppy.

We found the supplies pictured here, and instructions on how to use them on a website which we have linked to below.
