The first day, we met Charla and Kari at a show in Ashville, NC. As we found ourselves in their grooming area, I noticed a crate with the name "Polly" on it.  I couldn't take my eyes off of the lovely black Scottie inside.  She had an appealing head and the kindest eyes I'd ever seen. Tears filled my eyes as I began to wonder "Is she the one?"

The second day of our visit, we had an invitation for dinner at the Hill's home.  After a great BBQ, Kari took us on a tour of their Scottie Kingdom.  We were amazed, to say the least, by the pure number of Scotties living there. We made our way to the last gated area where we saw a large group of Charthill girls. Now here is the interesting part... Jim surveyed the group as they vied for our attention and a pat on the head. He had watched one in particular make her way over to him, and while bending over to scratch her behind the ears, he uttered the words "Hello girl... You're the one!"  It was Polly.  It was not until weeks later that I learned that he had not seen her at the show, and had no idea who she was that night, or that I had already fallen in love with her.

Before we left for home, Charla encouraged us to "keep our minds open" as we came to a decision.  This was, however, just one of those things that was simply "meant to be!"  Polly had captured both our hearts completely!  As time passed,  it became clear to us that she was everything we had hoped for, and  more. Beautiful, funny, and very loving. If she never wins a single  ribbon, we know we are blessed and eternally grateful for the chance to share our home, and spend our time with this extraordinary lady.
